L'envol de Romain Hugault - Le Bourget 2007

Romain Hugault graduated from the prestigious Ecole Estienne graphic arts school and has done illustrations for many seminal aviation books, including some for the French air force. Romain has had his head in the clouds since his birth thanks to an air force pilot father who transmitted a passion for planes—the subject of his earliest drawings. Romain has himself been flying since the age of 17, and history and aviation technology are both recurrent themes in his books. Torn between these two passions, he finally opted for art, keeping aviation as a leisure activity. His first book “Le dernier envol” (“The Last Flight”), published by Paquet, is now in its 5th edition with more than 15,000 copies sold in ten months. His second work “Au-delà des nuages” (“Beyond the Clouds”), exhibits his talent of telling a story in images. The book was created in partnership with scenarist Régis Hautière.
